Clare lives and breathes dance. Dance is her true pursuit of happiness and in dance she sees her soul.
Dancing since the age of 4, Clare began dancing ballet, taking up Latin American in her early teens. She cites the discipline and precision of ballet being the heart of her success as a Latin American dancer. Clare feels dance and her drive and passion come through in every performance. Every performance is performed as if it’s her last.
Clare has danced on the international stage for a number of years now and more recently has had high profile appearances on stage and TV. She has become a leading authority in the world of choreography, and has won critical acclaim with her original and breathtaking dance performances. Clare’s technical knowledge is second to none and her attention to detail is without compromise.
Clare has danced with her dance partner Steven Howard for 9 years now, and their competitive dance highlights include:
- 2005: Selected as England’s only representative at the IDSF Latin American World Cup in Vienna, Austria.
- 2004: Semi-finalists at IDSF world ranking in Madrid.
- 2003: Finalists at the Spanish International Open in Madrid.
- 2002: 2nd place in the English Open Championships in the Amateur Five Dance Trophy
Clare and Steven also have a number of theatrical and television credits to their name including:
- Invited to dance at the prestigious home of the Royal Ballet, Sadlers Wells.
- Performed as part of the three couples that formed the Cuban Groove Company dancing alongside World Salsa Champions Chris Marques and Jacqueline Spencer.
- Appeared on BBC televisions ‘Strictly Dance Fever’ in 2006, reaching the final 10.
- Selected to be part of the Simply Ballroom Dancing World Tour 2007 in Las Vegas.
Professionally Clare received honors in her Associate Latin American teaching qualification attaining 97%.
Teaching dance is now Clare’s full time job and as well as being resident Latin American teacher at Liverpool Theatre School, Clare has also choreographed performances at The London Palladium, The Theatre Royal, Her Majesty’s Theatre and Disneyland Paris.
